What’s Your Superpower?

By Oct 22, 2015 No Comments

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Seeing into people’s thoughts? Waving a magic wand to make the world a better place? Being able to fly or become invisible?

Whatever your superpower would be, it’s worth taking a closer look to see what it’s telling you. In fact, the things we dream about (even while we’re awake) can give us a lot of insight into what we really want. Let’s take a look at what some superpowers may be revealing about potential careers or hobbies you might enjoy.

I wish I could read people’s minds

If you study psychology or body language, you’ll gain a lot of insight into what’s going on with people. It’s amazing how close you can come to reading someone’s mind by paying attention to what their words or body language are saying.

I wish I could wave a magic wand to make the world a better place

What would that world look like for you? For example, if by having the power of a magic wand you would give everyone enough food and water, you might choose to support an aid organisation that provides those things, or become a scientist who develops a brilliant new way to feed the world. If you mean you’d wish everyone was happier and more fulfilled, you might consider studying personal development techniques to help individuals improve their lives.
I wish I was invisible

If you would put your invisibility to use to observe the world without being noticed, photography is one way to do that. Or if you simply want to get on with your life in peace, working from home could be for you.

I wish I could fly

This could be about actually flying, in which case you could start small and take up parachuting or hang-gliding, and maybe even work your way up to being a pilot one day. It could also indicate a desire for freedom, in which case you’d probably do well in a career where you have a lot of flexibility in your workday or even work for yourself.

Now that you’re getting the hang of this, think about what your own superpower would be. What interest or skill underlies it and how could you put that to work to create a fulfilling career or hobby for yourself? You might be surprised!
