Make the festive season as festive as possible with our list of the hottest and most happening events in and around Braamies both leading up to Christmas and on New Year’s Eve. It’s party time!

Crafters Fair Christmas Market at Emperors Palace

Head over to Emperors Palace in the East of Jozi for the Crafters Fair Christmas Market. It’s definitely a must if you have yet to stock up on all your Christmas gifts for friends and family! Browse through a variety of stalls selling Christmas goodies, essentials for scrapbooking, jewellery, toys, decor items, gifts and much more. The market will be taking place from Tuesday, 10 December to Sunday, 22 December, from 9am to 9pm every day. Also, be sure to pop into the Festival of Lights in the gardens if you happen to visit in the evening.

Wonderland of Lights at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens

You will find over 100 imported Christmas lights on display at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens this year, along with a host of other family-friendly Christmas attractions. Set your sights on an 11-foot gingerbread man, an army of nutcracker soldiers and a massive, furry Christmas Grinch. The lights show kicks off on 1 December through to 4 January. Tickets cost from R40 – R200 per person and can be bought online ahead of time.

H2O New Year’s Eve

If you’re looking for a great way in which to ring in the new year, Wild Waters in Boksburg is where you want to be be. This NYE, H2O connects with the official Black Coffee tour stage, “Africa is not a Jungle”, to create an unforgettable New Year’s Eve experience and a night of magic under the H2O stars.

The party starts at 5pm on New Year’s Eve, and tickets cost between R150 and R500 per person.

Wine Not New Year’s Eve

Say goodbye to 2019 and hello to 2020 with a rooftop party at Levelthree Premium Bar that you won’t be quick to forget! The only kicker is that you need to be 21 or over to attend. Pre-sold tickets are costly at R900 a pop, but they include food, soft drinks, select wine, premium beer and spirits. Enjoy the view and amazing live entertainment. Don’t forget to dress according to the dress code, which is ‘a dash of flair and sparkle’.
