What is the Parkview Charity Christmas Market?
This annual market, hosted by the Nicarela Charity, benefits a number of deserving charities in South Africa. It has proven to be a massive hit amongst all Joburgers and is now in its twelfth year running. It boasts over 90 different stalls and plenty of live entertainment to keep you busy and smiling all day long. Other awesome features of the market include a relaxing beer tent and a kiddies corner – so the whole family is welcome!
The Market is held in George Hay Park in Parkview.
It will be taking place from the 30 November 2018 to 2 December 2018.
The Parkview Charity Market opens at 3pm on Friday, 10am on Saturday and 10:30am on Sunday.
The Nicarela Charity supports a variety of local charities including the Princess Alice Adoption Home, the Sinenhlanhla HIV/AIDS support group, the Frida Hartley Shelter for destitute women and children and Marang House (providing medical care to seriously ill local children), to name a few.
How to Buy Tickets
The good news is that you don’t need to buy tickets ahead of time! Just arrive and pay at the entrance (cost still to be confirmed).
Don’t forget your hat and sunscreen. It’s summertime, after all, and you’re bound to forget about the heat amidst all the fun. Don’t leave the market with more than you bargained for – like a painful sunburn!
