Start the new year off right by doing something meaningful for those in need and give back in 2018. Not only will you be making a difference in other people’s lives, but you’ll also be amazed at how doing so can revive a jaded mind and soul, ultimately renewing your sense of motivation.
Here are 3 ways in which you can give back this year.
Whatever the cause most close to your heart, whether it’s animals, children or even the environment itself, there are a variety of ways in which to volunteer and help out.
Become a Mentor
As a student, you have already achieved some incredible things in your life – just being able to study at tertiary level says a lot about your ambition and dedication to solidifying your future.
There’s no doubt that you have plenty of wisdom to share with someone a little bit younger than you. The great news is that there are a number of mentorship programmes in Jozi that you may want to consider joining.
Our favourite is that of Bright Stars Mentors in Sandton. They pair up each of their mentors (over the age of 21 and with their own transport) with a ‘Little Star’ between the ages of 6 and 20.
It’s a wonderful programme that is inspirational for everyone involved.
Are you over 50 kgs? Are you a generally healthy person leading a low risk lifestyle? If so, you’re likely eligible to donate blood and help the SANBS save lives! If you’re keen, use this handy tool to find a donation centre near you: https://sanbs.org.za/donor-centres/
