When you’ve been hitting the books for a while, you will need a break every now and again to do something kif and blow off some steam. Unfortunately, many of these kif activities cost a massive chunk of cheese, resulting in you having to count your pennies until next month.
Luckily, we have taken the time to scout out three of the best events happening in Braamfontein over the next few weeks that every student can afford. You’re welcome!
Rooftop Yoga: Shine Studios, 115 Smit Street, corner Henri Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg
Blowing off steam doesn’t have to mean getting slaughtered with your mates! Do yourself – and your liver – a favour by adding rooftop yoga to your schedule. It’s happening on Saturday the 28th of January 2017 and costs just R100 per person (you can buy your tickets online via Webtickets). Not only will you be getting a wonderful mind and body workout, but you will also be able to enjoy fantastic views, great music and excellent company.
Kevin Fraser Live: Nelson Mandela Theatre, Braamfontein, Johannesburg
You can’t really put a price on a good belly laugh, can you? And what better way to relax after a long day of lectures? You can catch comedian Kevin Fraser at the Nelson Mandela Theatre on Friday the 17th of March 2017.
Tickets cost R200 per person – slightly more expensive than you’d probably hoped, but at least you still have plenty of time to save up!
Aftershock Episode 1: 42 Jorissen street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg
In the mood for a proper party? Aftershock is set to be nothing short of epic! It starts at 3pm on Saturday the 25th of March 2017 and promises 24 hours of uninhibited fun. Plan for awesome music, a line-up of memorable performances, a super cool dance competition and a cocktail and beer menu to die for. Oh yes – and don’t forget to dress up!

Who says you have to spend your entire study fund to have a good time this year? Thanks to Student Digz, you can get krunk for under 200 bucks. That’s a pretty sweet deal even if we do say so ourselves.
