Apps to Make Your Life Easier

By January 12, 2016 No Comments

There’s an app for everything, right? Well if that’s the case, there must be apps available to make student life easier, or at least more fun. Take a look at some of these – maybe there’s one that’s perfect for you?:

Evernote

This app helps you organise your life and increase your productivity. It provides everything you need from setting up your daily schedule to creating To-Do lists to taking notes in a lecture. It even has a scanning option, which allows you to link to Evernote to save your scanned document.

Dropbox Mobile or Google Drive

When you’re studying, it’s all about the information. Upload, store and share documents with your classmates, without using up space on your device as it’s all stored in the cloud. If you’re working on a group project, you can set up your data to allow more than one person, or even the whole group, to edit documents or spreadsheets.

Dictionary.com

This quick reference guide gives you definitions of any difficult words you come across while studying. You can also choose to receive a word of the day to generally improve your knowledge of the English language.

Video calls

As long as you have available data on your device, there are several apps that will help you to keep in touch with your family and friends, including Facetime, which is for those with Apple technology, and Skype, which can be used on any system.

Circle of Six

This app comes into its own on a night out, keeping you and your friends safe as you hit the town. The GPS tracker tells you where your friends are, and there’s even a button that sends out a call for help to your circle of friends, should you find yourself in trouble.

Sleep Cycle

If you’re not a morning person, this is the alarm clock for you. The sensors on your phone analyse your sleep patterns and find the best time to wake you up within a 30 minute window. If you’re interested, this app can also help you analyse your sleep quality in great detail.

With all these options and more out there, why not make use of technology to ease the flow of your day? It’s simple, fun and really cheap (and even sometimes free)!
